NO BAKE SEED AND CRANBERRY CHOCOLATE BARS

NO BAKE SEED AND CRANBERRY CHOCOLATE BARS

By lausundaycooks.com

Ingredients
8 tbsp. mixed seeds (pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, chia seeds etc)
3 handful of cranberries
A handful of pitted dated
4 tbsp organic cocoa powder
1 tsp desiccated coconut
3 tbsp coconut oil, melted
100 gr. Dark chocolate (85%), broken into small pieces

Place the seeds, cranberries, dates and cocoa powder into a food processor and pulse a few times until you get a stiff, coarse paste.  Spoon the melted coconut oil into the food processor, process the mixture on high power until the mixture is a smooth firm paste.  Line a 25 cm (10 in) cake tin with clingfilm, scrape in the paste and press down firmly to fill it.  Over a low heat, put the chopped chocolate into a bowl set over a pan of simmering water (just half cup of water is enough) and melt gently. Let it cool for a few minutes, then drizzle the melted chocolate over the top of the paste.  Place in the fridge for 3 hours or overnight, until set firm.  When ready to serve, slice into squares or bars.

6 HABITS TO LARGELY IMPROVE YOUR MEMORY AND BRAIN POWER

6 HABITS TO LARGELY IMPROVE YOUR MEMORY AND BRAIN POWER

By lifehack.org - Casey Moran

Would you like to become smarter? Remember things easier? Increase your brain’s overall strength? Good news! I’m going to show you six things you can start doing immediately that will improve your memory, strengthen your cognitive abilities and make you smarter!

Before I start with the six, I must tell you about the one thing that relates to all of them…being mindful.

The most important thing you can do to increase your brain power and memory is to be mindful.

This is basically paying attention on purpose. Being mindful is scientifically proven to increase the gray matter in your brain. Gray matter allows you to think clearer and remember more. The reason I don’t have mindfulness as one of my points is because you have to be mindful to do any of these things!

Maximize Your Sleep Cycle

We sleep 1/3 of our life, or at least we are supposed to. When we sleep, we go through a cycle which include 3 stages. Each stage is 30 minutes (90 minutes per cycle), and the cycle repeats itself throughout the night. The first stage is light sleep, the first 30 minutes, and this occurs when we first fall asleep. The next stage is deep sleep, between 30-60 minutes, and in deep sleep our body heals itself. It does this by releasing the hormone HGH which repairs what the body needs repairing. If you are sore from working out, this is the stage that makes you not sore in the morning.

The final stage, or Stage 3, is the famous REM stage which occurs between 60-90 minutes. This is the stage that repairs our brains. REM is known as the dreaming stage, but is also the stage where it categorizing your thoughts and memories. During the night the cycles treat different stages with different priorities.

Your body is the first thing to heal and then it moves to the brain. This is why they say it is crucially Important to get 7.5 – 9 hours of sleep a night. The average American gets 6.8 and lives in a sleep debt most of their life.

Implementing – Do your best to get 7.5 hours of sleep and if you need to take a nap, take one! If you are one of those people that think sleep is weak and you run just fine on your 6 hours, try getting 7.5 and see how efficient you are, how much better you feel, and notice how good your mood is throughout the day!

15 BRUTAL TRUTHS WOMEN IN THEIR 40'S WANT WOMEN IN THEIR 30'S TO KNOW

15 BRUTAL TRUTHS WOMEN IN THEIR 40'S WANT WOMEN IN THEIR 30'S TO KNOW

I am in my 40's now and I feel fitter and healthier than I was in my 30's.  In your late 30's you begin to see signs of peri-menopause which are the years leading up to menopause and its different for every woman.  Your 40's can be a great time and getting older and seeing your first wrinkles should be celebrated and not dreaded.  You can control the hormones and be fit and healthy and look great.  Here are some interesting facts to take into consideration too.

I can imagine so many of you nodding your heads as you read this. Anxiety about growing older is understandable. Age is only a number and it happens whether you are prepared for it or not. Knowing these brutal truths earlier prepares you to age more gracefully.

 1. Sleeping with make-up on ages your skin

The make-up layer not only dries out the top layer of the skin, it also prevents the shedding of dead skin. This slows down the normal renewal cycle, resulting in dull and uneven textured skin. The environmental pollutants fastened to the make-up create oxidative stress.  The resulting free radicals can cause your skin to age faster.

 2. Frequent use of stilettos does lead to health problems

When you hit your 40’s, the extended use of high heels and the cramming of your toes into abnormal positions can result in  a variety of ailments, starting with ingrown toenails to irreparable damage to leg tendons. Reserve your stilettos for special occasions only. Stretch and massage your foot afterwards to prevent nerve damage.

 3. Sleep deprivation adds more wrinkles

If just missing a few nights of sleep leads to sallow skin and puffy eyes, can you imagine the accumulated damage by the time you enter your 40’s? The body releases a stress hormone called cortisol when you don’t sleep enough. High cortisol levels break down collagen, the protein responsible for keeping your skin wrinkle-free.

 4. Always wears sunscreen. Yes, even in winter

When you hit the 40’s and start scrutinizing your wrinkles, you’ll definitely regret not having worn your sunscreen more frequently when younger. Even if you don’t fear skin cancer, year-round application of sunscreen drastically slows the aging of skin due to the ultraviolet rays.

7 NICE THINGS TO SAY TO MEAN, RUDE PEOPLE

7 NICE THINGS TO SAY TO MEAN, RUDE PEOPLE

By oprah.com - Amy Shearn

I can never find the words to say when I am faced with a difficult situation or a rude person.  What I needed to say always hits me after the event.  It can be so frustrating.  Does anyone else have the same problem.  These 7 nice things to say to mean, rude people are so good.

When snarky people strike, you could stew and come up with the perfect, biting comeback...seven-and-a-half hours later. Or you could try these responses instead.

1. To the Random, Infuriated Stranger: "Happy New Year!"

In our world of road rage and viral tirades, dealing with a jerk in public can be dangerous. So, proceed with caution—and where possible, kindness, too. Consider the technique used by a real-life relative of mine, when the man behind her in the drive-through-banking line felt that she was making her deposit too slowly. He laid on his horn, then proceeded to get out of his car, walk over and lean in toward her window, demanding to know, at a high volume, what in the bleep was taking her so long. Stunned, she answered, "Merry Christmas!" It was eight weeks past Christmas. The out-of-nowhere response confused him, shutting him up—and, as an added bonus, made her feel great, the way saying "Merry Christmas!" can. No fighting, no yelling, no stooping to his level. When he opened his mouth again, she added, "Happy New Year!", then calmly completed her transaction while he, rudeness-neutralized, stormed back to his vehicle.

BREAKING THE CYCLE OF ANXIETY

BREAKING THE CYCLE OF ANXIETY

by oprah.com - Deepak Chopra

Sometimes life's everyday stressors can send you into a tailspin. But if you always let your emotions rule, your body won't remember to calm down. Get Deepak Chopra's strategies to overcome those fears that keep you up in the middle of the night.  Learn more about Oprah & Deepak’s 21-Day Meditation Experience Series.

Fear is a natural reaction built into the mind-body system triggered by danger. After the danger is past, so is the fear response. But when fear spreads out into a general condition, it becomes a mysterious thing: anxiety. Anxious people are afraid even though there is nothing "out there" to be afraid of. Others overreact to triggers that ordinarily should be fairly easy to handle, such as being left alone for a day on their own. Still others are nearly paralyzed by highly specific phobias such as fear of heights, open spaces or insects. What is going on and what can we do about it?

COCONUT CURRY WITH SWEET POTATO NOODLES - VEGAN

COCONUT CURRY WITH SWEET POTATO NOODLES - VEGAN

By onegreenplanet.org - Taylor Kiser

INGREDIENTS
1/2 tablespoon coconut oil
1 large carrot, peeled and sliced
1 cup red bell pepper, sliced,
1 cup broccoli, cut into bite-sized pieces
1/3 cup onion, chopped
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
1/2 tablespoon yellow curry powder
1 13.5-ounce can full-fat coconut milk
A pinch of salt

FOR THE SWEET POTATO NOODLES:
1/2 tablespoon coconut oil
1 large sweet potato, peeled
A pinch of salt

FOR THE MANGO SALSA:
3/4 cup mango, diced
2 tablespoons red onion, diced
1 red chili, thai, minced, adjusted to preferred level of spiciness
1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup fresh coriander, plus additional for garnish
A pinch of salt

Heat a 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil on medium/high heat and cook the carrots for about 3 minutes, until they just begin to soften.  Turn the heat down to medium and add in the pepper, broccoli, onion, and ginger and cook until they begin to soften and brown, about 5 minutes.  Add in the 1/2 tablespoon of yellow curry powder and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.  Add in the can of coconut milk, making sure to mix it well before adding, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.  Raise the heat to medium-high and bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, turn the heat down to medium-low heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce begins to thicken.  While the sauce cooks, heat the remaining coconut oil in a separate pan over medium heat.  Spiralize the potato using the 3 millimeter blade and then add it into the pan. Cook the noodles, stirring often, until they just begin to wilt, about 10 minutes. Season with salt.  While you wait, toss together the diced mango, red onion, Thai chili, apple cider vinegar, and coriander in a medium bowl. Season with a pinch of salt.  Divide the noodles between two plates and top with the curry. Garnish with the mango salsa and extra coriander.

RASPBERRY MACADAMIA BROWNIES VEGAN AND GLUTEN FREE

RASPBERRRY MACADAMIA BROWNIES VEGAN AND GLUTEN FREE

By onegreenplanet.org - Dani Venn

INGREDIENTS
2 sweet potatoes, cut into 2-inch rounds
200g/1 cup Medjool dates, seeds removed
120g/1 cup almond or hazelnut meal
60g/1/2 cup raw cacao powder
1/2 cup arrowroot
220g/1 cup nut butter
80g/1/4 cup agave nectar
A handful of frozen raspberries
75g/1/2 cup macadamias, roughly chopped

Line a baking tray with baking paper and preheat oven to 356°F. Place sweet potato in a large steamer for 20 minutes, or until very soft, remove from steamer and place in high-powered food processor along with dates. Process on high until completely combined and mixture is smooth.  Remove from food processor and add almond meal, cacao, flour, nut butter, and raw sweetener. Stir well to combine. You can do this in the food processor, however don’t overwork the mixture, or it becomes a bit gluey and pasty.  Throw in the raspberries and macadamias in last and give them a little mix into the batter to just combine.  Add mixture to baking tray and smooth out the surface. Place in oven and bake for 20–25 minutes. When cooked, remove from oven and allow to cool slightly before cutting into squares.

THE MICROWAVE DRUG: THE BIOLOGICAL AND SPIRITUAL EFFECTS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION

THE MICROWAVE DRUG: THE BIOLOGICAL AND SPIRITUAL EFFECTS OF ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION

By lifehack.org - Benjamin Nowland

Benjamin Nowland moved to inner city Sydney in 2013 and soon after experienced acute symptoms of electromagnetic radiation pollution sickness. His physical, mental and spiritual health were profoundly affected. The only place he functioned was away from Wi-Fi, towers and mobile devices in a Zero EMF Sanctuary.

In his search for truth, Ben questioned the suppression of scientific evidence. He asked why adverse health effects of Wi-Fi, mobile devices, and telco and NBN microwave towers are not shared with the public? Microwaves are altering our DNA, 24/7. What don’t telcos and mobile manufacturers want us to know?

In what he called the Sydney EMF Experiment he used himself as the subject to correlate effects of electromagnetic radiation. Insights were substantiated with extensive research. Tens of thousands of dollars in products and mainstream and alternative therapies were tested during his two-year journey.

In his book, Playing God: Biological and Spiritual Effects of Electromagnetic Radiation, Ben provides a streamlined path to discover the invisible, delivering clear revelations around electromagnetic radiation that will enable you to achieve optimal physical and mental health, and inspire empowered action.

Here is his article:-

The 1998 US Army document ‘Bioeffects of Selected Nonlethal Weapons’ says “investigators are even beginning to describe similarities between microwave irradiation and drugs regarding their effects on biological systems. For example, some suggest that power density and specific absorption rate (SAR) of microwave irradiation may be thought of as analogous to the concentration of the injection solution and the dosage of a drug.” [1]

And, as the ‘volume’ or power density is turned up on microwave transmissions, with increased antenna towers, Wi-Fi, Wi-MAX, mobiles etc., we now receive a microwave dose often millions of times higher than what was studied 20 years ago.

History in a nutshell

Post WW-II military radar applications led to the 2.45 GHz household microwave oven. The same microwave radiation is now used to communicate. Recently Australia’s spectrum was sold off to telcos. Desirable blocks including 700 MHz or 0.7 GHz (penetration), 900MHz and 2.6 GHz (data throughput) bands were acquired. [2] Microwave exposure limits around the world in 2016 are based on obsolete military-derived thermal effects limits. According to the standards if your flesh does not cook you are ‘safe’. Yet adverse biological effects occur at exquisitely low levels of exposure. [3]

Suckled on the microwave teat

Like a drug, the wireless paradigm is alluring. We have access to information wherever we are. We are constantly ‘connected’. Higher power density (radiation) 5G is coming in 2020, enabling the simultaneous wireless download of 20+ videos rather than ‘only’ one or two.

AWARD WINNING CHEATSHEET TO TURN YOUR LIFE AROUND. TRY THESE AMAZING STEPS TODAY

AWARD WINNING CHEATSHEET TO TURN YOUR LIFE AROUND. TRY THESE AMAZING STEPS TODAY

By lifehack.org - Shaunna-Kaye Mattadeen

Are you waking up unhappy or slipping away into the drenching array of negativity with questions like:

Why am I not successful?

What am I going to do? All my friends have figured things out, but not me.

I don’t want to go to college, but how will I survive?

Why can’t I just get a grand idea and make the world change for the better?

I try so hard, but why can’t I get the results?

You are definitely not alone. I had these same questions until I realized that I had gone through enough and put the most life challenging parts of my story into a book. After I dreaded the process for 3 whole years just to help people, I realized that I’m pretty successful. I’m a 23 year old author now. Doesn’t that just sound amazing to you? I see my name on Amazon and it gives me chills that I had completed that one thing.

The question I ask myself now is that if I backtracked to 6 years ago, would I read a book to change my life? I probably wouldn’t. A cheatsheet of the book would have been better. Lucky for you, I have put together one, simplifying the tips on how to change your life from absolute chaos to freedom. I’ve called my concept THE BREADCRUMB BALANCE.

Your first step to moving forward is to give things a chance. Remember that quote? To have a different outcome, you have to start doing things differently. Focusing on the lifestyle will lead you to the life.

The Breadcrumb Balance PART 1
This is vital for growth in any aspect of life.

So… maybe you like bread or maybe you don’t. Luckily, for you, this really isn’t about either one. Have you ever seen how a solid loaf of bread looks? What am I asking? Of course you have! It’s firm, yet soft. It leaves some crumbs if not consumed or fully used up. The breadcrumb is useful for other things. Don’t trash it just yet.

Okay, but what does this have to do with me or growth?

Maybe you aren’t where you want to be in life since you’re reading this, but just like the breadcrumb, don’t trash your life. I was once in a dark place too. I was frustrated and annoyed by everything just because I wasn’t where I wanted to be. I wasn’t accepted by society or even my family because of things I felt and chose. I was attracted to women and that could have gotten me killed where I was from. I was also doing drugs, clubbing all night, then going to school drunk in the morning. Deep down, all I wanted was to have a decent life and make myself proud, but i didn’t know what to do or how to get there. I was the underdog, the black sheep, the I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MYSELF person. The only thing is I was good at was hiding it.
